What’s the “youngest” IUD I’ve removed? A couple weeks. And what’s the “oldest” IUD I’ve ever removed? A 23 year old Mirena IUD. The patient was brought in by her son to establish care with a gynecologist. She had an IUD placed shortly after he was born that she had forgotten about. Welp, I couldn’t see or find the strings in the clinic, so I got an ultrasound. It was still there and in the right spot.
