Milford Sound – The 8th Wonder of the World 🌎🇳🇿 Deep within Fiordland National Park lies one of New Zealand’s most breathtaking natural treasures — Milford Sound. Often called the 8th Wonder of the World, this majestic fjord is a masterpiece carved by glaciers over thousands of years. Towering cliffs, lush rainforests, and cascading waterfalls surround the dark waters, creating a landscape so dramatic it feels almost otherworldly. Cruising through Milford Sound is an unforgettable experience.

Milford Sound is the kind of place that makes me want to be alone with a great view and my camera for hours at a time. I love New Zealand so much, and one of my favorite ways to see it is by helicopter! Milford Sound is the site of one of the steepest mountains in the world, Mitre Peak, which goes from sea level to up over 5,500 feet. Which feels MASSIVE when you’re at the base of it! It’s called a Sound, but this area is actually a fiord! The only one of New Zealand’s that’s accessible by road.
