This is the fruit of passiflora incarnata, known commonly as purple passionflower or maypop! This variety of passionfruit is actually native to our region and in the high summer the passiflora rows are bustling with butterflies and bees, enjoying their nectar and gathering pollen from their flowers. The flowers and vines are useful medicinally (featured in several of our herbal products!) and the ripe fruit is sweet and tropical! We’re selling them in pint containers while supplies last!
