Dec 28, 2018 · I bought the Sony HT-XT2 and connected it to the HDMI4/ARC port, used Bravia Sync to connect to the soundbar, and viola, it all worked perfectly. TV said switching to external speakers, and adjusting volume on TV remote now was controlling the soundbar. I then got a Sony blue ray player and connected it to HDMI1 and it worked fine.

Jan 23, 2018 · Most Sony TVs have a hybrid headphone/line level audio output. It probably also has optical audio output. Check the owners manual on how to turn on and configure the audio out. If the TV actually doesn't have any audio outputs then your options are to get your audio directly from your external sources (cable box for example).
