If you decide the last set gap the second ring first they are much softer than the top ring so its easy to gap them more than neeeded if you start with the top ring. Just basic inductive principles. With a richer mixture like most classics have a greater plug gap and voltage isn't as necessary because it is much easier to ignite a rich mixture.

Prior to these plugs I gapped them at .040 which was fine, but when gapped at .045, I had a hesitation while accelerating at all the RPM ranges.
