Gov. Greg Abbott announced Friday that the federal government has updated the Presidential Disaster Declaration following recent flooding in Texas to include additional counties.

The extended local declaration, along with the state's existing declaration, is expected to cover funds needed to fix and reopen damaged roads and bridges.
