At least 67 people are dead and many more missing in Texas in the wake of torrential rains and resulting flooding. At least 59 people are dead after heavy rain pounded Kerr County, Texas, on Friday, leading to "catastrophic" flooding, Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha said at a news conference Sunday morning.

Emergency responders continued to search for missing individuals including at least 10 girls who were attending a summer camp on the banks of the Guadalupe River.

A grief-stricken Texas is asking whether meteorologists and local officials did enough to prevent flood devastation.
