The Dodgers extend outfielder Teoscar Hernández a qualifying offer while declining to give one to right-hander Walker Buehler, who officially becomes a free agent.

The Dodgers extended a qualifying offer to outfielder Teoscar Hernández, a one-year, $21.05 million contract that if declined and he signs elsewhere would net the team a compensatory draft pick. The deadline to accept or decline the qualifying offer is November 19.

Friday afternoon the Dodgers held a championship parade through downtown Los Angeles for the first time since 1988. The Dodgers won the World Series in 2020, of course, though there was no parade due to pandemic restrictions.

Hernández hopes he and the Dodgers can agree to a contract as soon as possible. "Hopefully tomorrow," he said. "I want us to be here."
