King County Metro bus driver Shawn Yim will be honored with a procession and memorial Friday morning. Yim was a King County Metro bus driver who was killed following an altercation with a passenger on December 18,

Richard Sitzlack was charged on Dec. 23 with killing Yim. According to court documents, Yim and Sitzlack began arguing about a window on the bus on Dec. 18 before Yim asked Sitzlack to exit the bus. Surveillance video reportedly showed Sitzlack pepper spraying Yim in the face before exiting the bus.

King County Metro has said to expect bus cancellations on Friday, January 10, as the community gathers to honor driver Shawn Yim.

On Friday at 10 a.m. a bus procession will make its way through downtown. It will begin at the Central Base Area on 6th Avenue, travel up 4th Avenue, turn onto Denny Way, then 2nd Avenue, and end at the Lumen Field Event Center, located at 800 Occidental Avenue South.
