The accused, both juveniles, had come for treatment at the facility located in Kalindi Kunj area of southwest Delhi, and fatally shot Doctor Javed Akhtar at around 1:45 AM before fleeing the spot.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested by police in connection with the murder of a doctor at a private nursing home in Delhi, media reports said.

The incident happened inside the three-bedded Nima Hospital in Khadda Colony at around 1 am on Thursday. After committing the crime, he uploaded a post on a social media platform with his photograph and a caption: "Kar diya 2024 mein murder" (Finally committed murder in 2024).

Of the two accused, one had got his toe bandaged by the compounder, before the shooting. Abid, an employee at the nursing home, said Akhtar had been working there for the past two years.

As per a PTI report, the main accused, aged around 16 years, after allegedly committing the crime uploaded a post on a social media platform with his photograph and a caption: "Kar diya 2024 mein murder" (Finally committed murder in 2024).

Following the incident, the accused allegedly posted a photograph of himself on social media with the caption, "Kar diya 2024 mein murder" (Finally committed murder in 2024). The accused had visited the hospital with another teenager,
