Former Horry County mayor and original member of the Horry County Police Department Herman Enzor Sr. died at the age of 91 on New Years Eve in South Carolina.

Two people were injured Thursday night after a reported shooting near Highway 544, an Horry County police spokesperson told News13. Police responded to Highway 544 near Kingdom Harvest Church Ministries in the Socastee area.

Herman Enzor, 91, a long-time county law enforcement officer, died on New Year’s Eve. He was one of the first eight original officers of the Horry County Police Department. He served his beloved county for four decades, eventually attaining the rank of chief and retired as a major.
