Nebraska Attorney General Mike Hilgers has filed a lawsuit against General Motors and OnStar, accusing the automaker and its subsidiary company of selling the driving data of Nebraskans, without the drivers' consent.

General Motors is facing trouble again over its customers' data. This time, it's the state of Nebraska on the other end of the bar, as State Attorney General Mike Hilgers has accused GM and OnStar of harvesting telematics data from its vehicles and then selling it to third-party data brokers and insurance companies,

The data would end up getting sold to insurance companies, and sometimes it would lead to rate increases and even canceled insurance policies.
