A trough of low pressure located offshore the Atlantic coast of northern Florida is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms across portions of Florida, the northwestern Bahamas and adjacent Atlantic waters,

The National Hurricane Center has flagged an area of interest in the Gulf for potential tropical development next week. Regardless of tropical development, it could mean heavy rainfall for parts of Florida and the southern U.

The Southeast is in for days of heavy rain and some potential for tropical mischief in the Gulf later in the week as the National Hurricane Center monitors an area near Florida.
