Brentford finally picked up their first away win of the season at the 10th attempt after hammering bottom-of-the-table Southampton 5-0.

Every team can lose a match but it's how you lose. Southampton were woeful against a rampant Brentford side and deserved to suffer a heavy defeat. It is the third time in a month that the Saints have conceded five goals in a league match and changing their manager has not improved their fortunes.

Mbeumo nabbed his second and Brentford's third of the afternoon soon after by converting a 69th-minute penalty. Chelsea loanee Lesley Ugochukwu managed to haul Van den Berg to the turf while losing his footing in a comically feeble attempt to defend a cross.

Brentford had picked up just two points away from home all season but a trip to St Mary's changed that. The Bees scored after six minutes against Southampton and dominated throughout the match in a five-star performance.
