After much anticipation, Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid marked his return to NBA in the in-season tournament game against the New York Knicks. However, he was completely off the pace on his return from injury as he flopped on his season debut.

Joel Embiid's 2024-25 season got off to a disastrous start off of the floor. What was supposed to be a season focused on health and making it to the playoffs in peak condition began with a preseason knee injury and an altercation with a local reporter that led to a three-game suspension.

Joel Embiid had a predictably up-and-down performance across 26 minutes in his season debut for the 76ers, who now stand at 2-8 after a loss Tuesday night to the Knicks.
