Here's a list of family friendly activities to celebrate Black History Month this year
On Wednesday, Feb. 26, Ball in the House, a renowned a cappella group, will perform "And Now I See: Racism, and American Music” to celebrate Black History Month at the Gardner Mount Wachusett Community College Campus. The performance begins at 12:30 p.m. and continues to 1:30 p.m. in the South Café.

What to know about why Black History Month was created
Black History Month was recognized nationally in 1976, when President Gerald Ford designated the month as a time for the public to honor the contributions of Black Americans, according to the museum. The month has since inspired other groups and an appreciation of multicultural backgrounds.
