When Netflix increased prices this week, Christopher Duggan was annoyed. The 59-year-old communications professional in the St. Louis area is sticking with Netflix and two other streaming services but said he’s tired of constant price increases and haggling with his cable and internet provider over escalating bills.

Netflix is the standard bearer currently for streaming services. It has grown incredibly over the last decade by creating its own series and movies and giving subscribers a lot of quality. This is above and beyond what the streamer shows from other studios.

As we continue to invest in programming and deliver more value for our members, we will occasionally ask our members to pay a little more so that we can re-invest to further improve Netflix,” the company said in a statement.
