Enrique Delgado-Garcia allegedly described hazing-like conditions at the State Police Academy, his friend told The Boston Globe.

Massachusetts State Police recruit Enrique Delgado-Garcia died after being injured while boxing, the I-Team reported.

Before he died, Delgado-Garcia told a close friend that the first months of the academy were like “torture,” and numerous former trainees have filed complaints and lawsuits in recent years describing hazing-like conditions.

The Massachusetts Department of Labor Standards on Thursday confirmed it is weighing whether to investigate the death of Enrique Delgado-Garcia at the Massachusetts State Police training facility in New Braintree.
