Prince Harry has often compared Meghan Markle to his mother, Princess Diana, who died in 1997. On the April 28 episode of The Jamie Kern Lima Show, Markle was asked how she feels about the things her husband has said about the similarities between her and the former Princess of Wales.

Princess Diana's friend also described the couple as "disaster tourists," citing their visit to victims of the Los Angeles fires in January, where they handed out food parcels at the Pasadena Convention Centre.
