A Hindu temple near Toronto where violence erupted over the weekend was the site of another demonstration Monday night that police broke up.

“The attack by Khalistanis on the Hindu-Canadian devotees inside the premises of the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton shows how deep and brazen has Khalistani violent extremism has become in Canada,” wrote Liberal MP Chandra Arya, who represents an Ottawa riding, on X.

India recently expelled six Canadian diplomats amid an escalating row over the investigation into the murder of pro-Khalistan Sikh radical Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
