ABC7 in Los Angeles lost its over-the-air signal Friday morning as the Eaton Fire burned closed to the transmission towers on Mount Wilson.

The Eaton Fire burning through the hillsides and mountains above Pasadena is now approaching the Mount Wilson Observatory, with potential implications for both the historic structures and emergency communications during the ongoing wildfire siege devastating Los Angeles.

Decreased winds have helped slow progression of the fire, as officials prepare for the return of strong winds early next week.

The two fatalities were civilians and more than 100 structures have been destroyed in the wildfire that's burned over 10,000 acres in Los Angeles County.
