Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe signs a new bill banning cell phone use in K-12 schools, effective Aug. 28. ST. LOUIS — On Wednesday, Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe signed 13 bills into law sent to his desk by the legislature.
Every school in Rhode Island is now required to have a policy in place prohibiting students from accessing electronic devices, including cell phones, during the school day.
With the start of the new school year less than a month away for some school districts, school leaders are being trained now on how the new cell phone pouch works.
A poll conducted by RCSD since June 23 showed that about 55% of respondents support the ban. The primary concern among respondents was maintaining emergency communication between parents and students.
