A January 6 rioter who fled the US after being sentenced for his role in the 2021 Capitol assault was arrested on the four-year anniversary in western Canada.

Anthony Vo told The Toronto Sun that he was "pretty much 99% sure" that Trump will pardon him once he takes office on Jan. 20.

A man convicted and sentenced to nine months in jail for his role in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol in 2024 was arrested in Whistler, B.C., four years to the day after the riot.

“We can confirm that Mr. Vo, a fugitive from U.S. justice, was arrested without incident in Whistler, B.C. on Jan. 6, 2025 on warrant under the [Immigration and Refugee Protection Act],” a spokesperson for the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) told Pique in a statement.
