Roy Varghese, 50, of Eagan, was shot several times mid-afternoon Sunday at the U.S. Postal Service’s Elway Station at 1715 W. 7th St., on a report of a person shot inside the building, according to police. Varghese was taken by emergency responders to Regions Hospital. His condition was not immediately available.

The United States Postal Inspection Service is investigating after a man was shot at a St. Paul branch of the agency Sunday afternoon. According to the St. Paul Police Department, preliminary information suggests the man was shot by one of his coworkers at the post office.
