A brushfire east of New York Penn Station has knocked out power for trains in the area, disrupting travel between Penn Station and New Haven, Connecticut — and suspending Amtrak service in both directions for the rest of the day.

Limited service was available between South Station in Boston and New Haven ... Amtrak encouraged those traveling between New York and New Haven to take Metro-North trains, where their tickets would be honored because of the disruption.
