Mexico has refused a request from President Donald Trump's administration to allow a U.S. military aircraft deporting migrants to land in the country, a U.S. official and a Mexican official told Reuters.

NBC News cited two U.S. defense officials and another informed source. According to the report, two Air Force C-17s bound for Guatemala, each carrying around 80 people, flew deportees out of the U.S.

Many remain determined to reach the U.S. through more dangerous means, riding freight trains, hiring smugglers and dodging authorities.

Premier combat troops have been ordered to the southern border, as part of Trump’s militarization of immigration.
