Amtrak passengers are facing major delays on one of the busiest routes in the country. Power issues in Philadelphia brought trains to a halt, causing unexpected disruptions from Washington, D.C. all the way up to New York.

Amtrak Northeast service between New York and Washington, D.C., has been suspended due to overhead power issues in Philadelphia, officials said.

Service between New York and New Haven, Connecticut, remained suspended on Wednesday due to a fire the day before.
