The Tampa Bay Buccaneers needed a new defensive line coach after the departure of Kacy Rodgers to the Detroit Lions, and now, they officially have one — and he's familiar with the Tampa Bay area. NFL reporter Ian Rapoport reported on Wednesday that the Buccaneers are hiring Charlie Strong to replace Rodgers as the team's defensive line coach.

The former Texas, Louisville and South Florida coach is heading back to the NFL for the first time since 2021 under Urban Meyer.

Charlie Strong is making his way back to the big leagues. After spending the 2023 season as an analyst at Alabama, the former Texas Longhorns and Louisville Cardinals head coach has secured a role with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
