Florida State will continue its slate of junior days in Tallahassee this weekend. The Seminoles will be bringing in recruits from multiple classes to meet with the new coaching staff and learn more about the program.

Ionata is the son of former FSU offensive lineman Joey Ionata, who played for the Seminoles from 1984-88. Ionata was a full-time starter during his final two years with the program and was an AP All-American honorable mention in 1988. The younger Ionata also has an older brother, Joseph Ionata, who signed with Alabama in 2023.

Losses to Georgia Tech, Boston College and Memphis started the year from hell. There were blowout losses and some close defeats in ACC play. The Seminoles finished the season by getting whacked by rival Florida, 31-11. National title runner-up Notre Dame beat FSU, 52-3.

Florida State's coaching staff is staying busy on the road. The Seminoles have been traveling all over the country to meet with prospects and extend new scholarship offers. Head coach Mike Norvell and defensive coordinator Tony White made their way through the Sunshine State on Wednesday.

The Seminoles are making an important addition to their front office to help with the ever-changing tide of college athletics.

FSU played a significant number of freshmen this past season, and while some showed promises, the production wasn't quite there. Running back Kam Davis, wide receiver Lawayne McCoy, and tight ends Landen Thomas and Amaree Williams were among the freshmen who played in their first year.
