President-elect Donald Trump has named veteran British television producer Mark Burnett as Special Envoy to the United Kingdom, part of a broader slate of administration appointments announced on his Truth Social platform Saturday.
In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump said Burnett "brings a unique blend of diplomatic acumen and international recognition to this important role."
Mark Burnett and President-elect Donald J. Trump had a long and successful collaboration that made Mr. Trump a household name.
Trump named Mark Burnett as his pick for special envoy to the U.K., noting Burnett’s career as a producer for shows like “Survivor,” “Shark Tank,” “The Voice” and Trump’s “The Apprentice” in announcing the choice. Burnett is the former chairman of MGM and a 13-time Emmy Award winner.
