A huge tornado was seen twisting over a field south of Gary, South Dakota, on June 28, as severe storms swept the area. The twister was on the ground for over 30 minutes and clipped at least one house, according to a meteorologist.

DES MOINES, Iowa (KTIV) - Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has set the date for a special election to fill the state Senate seat formerly held by the late Rocky De Witt. The governor Monday afternoon issued a proclamation setting Tuesday, August 26, 2025 as the date for that special election in Senate District 1.
