The Blue Jackets are in Toronto tonight for the first time this season

The Columbus Blue Jackets will look to stretch their winning streak to six games when they play host to the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night.

The four-game, six-night venture begins tonight in Manhattan, as the Blue Jackets take on the New York Rangers before heading to take on the Islanders on Monday. From there, the wheels are up to Toronto for a Wednesday meeting before the trip ends a night later with a third division game Thursday in Carolina.

Columbus is 11-8-1 on the road and 20-19-1 in 40 all-time games against the Maple Leafs. The Jackets are 4-2 in the last 6, and 14-11 in the last 25 games vs. Toronto. Mitch Marner leads the Leafs with 52 assists and 67 total points. Zach Werenski has 14 points in 15 games against the Leafs.

Columbus is 8-14-3 on the road and 25-21-8 in 54 all-time games against the Islanders. The Blue Jackets beat the Isles in their only meeting this season. Elvis Merzļikins had a shutout. The New York Islanders (19-20-7) took over a second straight game in the second period, bowling over the Columbus Blue Jackets (22-18-7). The game finished X-1, with Bo Horvat’s second-period pair lifting the Islanders to the win.

The Blue Jackets are underway in a key stretch that could go a long way in deciding whether their fans are doing “playoff math” this spring.
