Happy 2025, friends! We’re finally past the 41-game mark in the NHL and entering the silly season when it comes to trades, rumours, and everything else going on.
Brock Boeser, at least, had a good game. He nearly tied things up on a Teddy Blueger rebound shortly after the Oilers’ first goal but Calvin Pickard stretched out his toe to make the save. Well, he didn’t literally stretch out his toe; that would be gross.
The Vancouver Canucks roll into Dallas on a three-game winning streak and are looking to keep their momentum going as they face the Stars for the first time this season. Defence has been the name of the game for the Canucks over their last trinity of games.

In a highly anticipated NHL Pacific Division clash, the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Vancouver Canucks 6-2 at Rogers Place on Thursday (Jan. 23). Zach Hyman scored twice for the Oilers, who charged out to a 3-0 lead after the first period and went ahead 5-0 in the middle frame.
