The Nevada County Sheriff's Office is responding to a report of a possible shooting in Grass Valley and asking the public to stay clear of the area. Deputies responded to the report of a shooting at a residence on Conifer Lane just before 3 p.m.

NCSO Deputies established a perimeter and evacuated nearby residences with assistance from the Grass Valley Police Department. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded with a helicopter which was later relieved by the Sacramento Police Department when CHP needed to refuel.

Nevada County Sheriff's Office reported a shooting in Grass Valley, followed by the death of suspect David Weiss and critical injury of a 65-year-old female victim.
