Former Blue Bomber star Willard Reaves is not one to mince words, but he thinks the NFL did just that when it decided to change a slogan that’s become a regular sight at football games for the last few years.

The National Football League will use the phrase “Choose Love” in the back of the end zone at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans for Sunday’s Super Bowl LIX (59) game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.

“End Racism,” one of the phrases teams started using in end zones in 2020 as part of the league NFL’s “Inspire Change” initiative, was notably stenciled into the back of one of the end zones during the NFC Championship game at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

The NFC Championship Game in Philadelphia still had “End Racism” as an end-zone slogan. Those three slogans are part of the NFL’s “Inspire Change” which launched in 2018. In 2020, slogans such as “End Racism,” “It Takes All of Us,” “Stop Hate,” “Choose Love” and “Vote” became part of messages in stadiums across the country.
