The U.S. Department of Transportation sued Southwest Airlines Wednesday, alleging it illegally operates flights that are persistently delayed, harming passengers and fair competition in the airline industry.

Tragedy on a Southwest Philadelphia street as a woman was violently killed Wednesday afternoon, out on the street.

Philadelphia homicide detectives are investigating a fatal stabbing in the southwest section of the city. Officials said it was around 4 p.m. Wednesday when a woman in her 20s was stabbed once in the chest along the 2100 block of South 58th Street.

A woman was stabbed in the chest in Southwest Philadelphia on Wednesday evening, according to police. She died from her injuries.
