A death investigation is underway after a woman was hit by a CTA Blue Line train near Logan Square early Friday morning.

Around 4:30 a.m. Friday, the unidentified woman was hit near the Logan Square subway station, according to police.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A woman is dead after being hit by a CTA train on Chicago's Northwest Side early Friday morning, police said. Police said the woman, whose age was not immediately known, was found on the CTA Blue Line tracks at the Logan Square station around 4:30 a.m.

Customs and Border Protection officers detained the woman, who holds a valid green card, because of an outstanding warrant for shoplifting more than a dozen years old.
