With prices starting at $1,799, the Pixel Pro 9 Fold is one of the most expensive smartphones on the market. iFixit’s inner screen replacement for last year’s Pixel Fold was also costly at $899, but this is still an alarming jump for the latest model.

F ollowing recent releases in Google’s Pixel series, parts for the new Pixel 9 Pro Fold are now available on iFixit. The most notable addition is the repair kit for the Pixel 9

Following the other three phones in the series, repair parts — including the screen — for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold are now listed on iFixit.

While you can’t buy inner screen protectors for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, you can get phone cases which should be able to absorb the shock of a drop better than the phone’s chassis alone. And bear in mind that the non-dust proof devices shouldn’t be taken to the beach, or anywhere particularly dusty.

To put the inner Pixel 9 Pro Fold display repair price in perspective, the screen replacement of the recently unveiled unique tri-folding Mate XT phone costs "only" $1,100, despite that it is way larger and folds both in and out at two creases.

Other replacement parts for Pixel 9 Pro Fold, like base battery and USB-C charging assembly, are costly as well. Repairing Pixel 9 Pro Fold's inner display yourself is complex, as it takes around 3-4 hours and has 199 steps.
