An NHS doctor who was born male and now identifies as a woman has said that trans women have right to get changed in front of female colleagues. Dr Beth Upton told an employment tribunal that "I’m biologically female" and said sex had "no defined or agreed meaning in science.

A transgender doctor told NHS managers of intent to use female changing room facilities and denied that using them despite the discomfort of a female nurse was “bullying and harassment”, an employment tribunal has heard.
