There’s a lot of baseball still to be played before the World Series comes our way in late October, but the three-game series between the Astros and Padres this week at Petco Park left both teams thinking of a possible Fall Classic matchup.

Fernando Tatís Jr., Manny Machado and Donovan Solano gifted the San Diego Padres with plenty of insurance against the Houston Astros on Wednesday.

The pitching matchup lived up to its billing. Fortunately for the Padres Manny Machado had seen enough. Machado turned on the first pitch he saw from Astros starter Framber Valdez, rocketing a 94 mile per hour sinker into the left field seats.
