Shrey Parikh, 14, of Rancho Cucamonga, California, won the 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee on Thursday at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington.

Shrey Parikh correctly spelled these and more tricky terms to win the Scripps National Spelling Bee, which ended in a tense and record-breaking speed round.

After a spell-off against Gupta, Parikh was able to spell 32 words in 90 seconds against Gupta’s 25 words, with the final word being “cashaw.”
