That’s why I went out and shot over 200 photos with the iPhone 16 Pro Max vs. iPhone 14 Pro Max to see what differences there are between the two-generation gap. Earlier this year I also shot over 200 photos against the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max, only to find the outcome to come out closer than I expected.

The 13 Pro Max still feels fast, takes excellent photos, and easily lasts all day on a full charge even at 88% battery health. The usual improvements you expect from a new iPhone—faster processor, better cameras, longer battery life—would be lost on me in day-to-day use.

I've now lived with both the new iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Plus for just over a week, as I was tasked with reviewing them for Creative Bloq (I know, it's a dirty job but someone's got to do it).
