New York City Marathon Live Updates: Susannah Scaroni and Daniel Romanchuk Win Wheelchair Races
For the third time, Daniel Romanchuk is the men’s wheelchair division champion at the New York City Marathon. Romanchuk, a 26-year-old American, won this morning’s race in thrilling fashion by pulling away from David Weir of Britain before the finish line in Central Park. Romanchuk finished in 1 hour 36 minutes 31 seconds.
There is no dedicated wheelchair repair shop at the New York City Marathon, so racers and their coaches come prepared with an array of tools to allow them to make fixes on the fly.
