Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney made five big promises when they took over National League club Wrexham in 2021. Wrexham completed their promotion to the Championship with a win over Charlton Athletic on Saturday and became the first team ever to win three consecutive promotions in English professional football.

Wrexham AFC is just one step away from English soccer's Premier League after being promoted into the system’s second tier — its third straight promotion.

Reynolds said Wrexham “made history” with their third promotion, and added “that doesn’t happen without the wisdom of (manager) Phil Parkinson and his coaching staff, or the talent” of the team.
