Penn State’s defensive coordinator position remains open as of early Wednesday afternoon. James Franklin must replace Tom Allen, the former Indiana head coach who spent one season with the Nittany Lions before taking the Clemson defensive coordinator job earlier this week.

Penn State is looking to hire a defensive coordinator for the second time in two years. And, much like the last time around, the financial aspect of hiring a candidate shouldn’t be an issue. With last year’s hire,

Penn State landed two wide receivers in the transfer portal last month: Kyron Hudson from USC and Devonte Ross from Troy. The Lions also have three wide receivers in their current recruiting class: Matthew Outten of Portsmouth, Va.; Lyrick Samuel of New York; and Koby Howard of Davie, Fla.
