Hurricane Erin is marching north, lashing North Carolina's Outer Banks with rough waves and coastal flooding, and bringing a threat of dangerous waves and potentially deadly rip currents to the East Coast.

Hurricane Erin is moving northeastward and will continue to head in that direction at a quicker speed over the next few days, the National Hurricane Center said. The center of Erin is expected to move over the western Atlantic between the East Coast and Bermuda through early Friday,
