On Friday morning, New Mexico State University President Valerio Ferme and the university’s Acting Athletic Director Amber Burdge met with media to talk about the firing of former Athletic Director Mario Moccia.

New Mexico State athletic director Mario Moccia was fired last week following an investigation from the state's attorney general into a highly publicized hazing scandal within the men's basketball program.

New Mexico State University and Athletic Director Mario Moccia have parted ways. According to New Mexico State University, President Valerio Ferme announced Moccia will depart from the university, effective immediately.
