Former Saurashtra batter Sitanshu Kotak is set to join the Indian team as their batting coach ahead of the upcoming white-ball series against England.

Saurashtra veteran has been attached to the India A squad for a long time, and will start his stint in Kolkata with the five T20Is and three ODIs against England

Kotak has been head coach of several India A tours, and served as assistant coach to Laxman during the Ireland T20Is, and has been a batting coach at the NCA since 2019

The Indian team’s abysmal batting performances in the past few months that led to a historic 3-0 whitewash against New Zealand at home before surrendering the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the first time in a decade,

Kotak flew to Australia with the India A side in November 2024 and is currently the head coach of the India A team.

BCCI has asked Sitanshu Kotak to join India squad as their batting coach. Sitanshu will join the India squad from the T20I series against England

The India batters have experienced a tough time with the bat in the last few series which were played both at home and away as well. This has led to the coaching staff getting a lot of backlash after the performances in red-ball cricket in Australia and a whitewash against New Zealand in particular.
