Tesla tycoon Elon Musk’s endorsement of Alternative for Germany (AfD) could legitimise the far-Right party among business people and ordinary voters, easing its eventual path to power, a member of the movement has said.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has issued a withering response to billionaire Elon Musk’s endorsement of the country’s far-right party, Alternative for Germany.

In his opinion piece, Musk called the AfD "the last spark of hope" for Germany and argued in favor of the party's positions on energy, economic recovery and migration, saying they reflect "the principles that made Tesla and SpaceX successful," according to a Euronews translation.
