The Chicago Sky put themselves back in the WNBA headlines in a busy day of free agency moves.
CHICAGO (April 12, 2026) — The Chicago Sky officially signed guard/forward DiJonai Carrington, the team announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Chicago Sky have a lot of work to do in April during a compressed free-agency period before the WNBA draft.
But Carrington is perhaps best known for her past feud with the Indiana Fever superstar Clark. During a playoff series against the Fever in 2024 (Clark’s rookie year), Carrington, who was then a member of the Connecticut Sun, sparked backlash by appearing to poke Clark in the eye intentionally.
The Sky signed a veteran star who could help establish a much-needed winning culture in Chicago.
The Sky are bolstering their roster with the re-signing of veteran point guard Courtney Vandersloot in free agency.
The Chicago Sky made a trade that immediately split opinions across the WNBA. The franchise sent Angel Reese to the Atlanta Dream in exchange for first-round picks in 2027 and 2028, plus swap rights on Chicago’s 2028 second-round selection.
